Pipeline Trail Extended!

Phase Two of the Pipeline Trail is now complete and open for public use. With this extension, the trail is now 2.4 miles long and stretches from East D Street at the Tacoma Dome Station to East 48th Street on Tacoma’s Eastside. Tacoma Mayor Victoria Woodards and other dignitaries attended the ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, June 8th, and enjoyed a bike ride or walk along the new portion of trail.

A planned third phase will add a 1.4-mile segment stretching from East 56th Street in Tacoma to East 72nd Street at Waller Road East in Pierce County.

The Pipeline Trail will eventually stretch 15.4 miles and connect the Tacoma Dome Transit Center Downtown, East Tacoma, and unincorporated southwest Pierce County, joining the Foothills Trail — and by extension (pun-intended), Mt. Rainier National Park itself.

Thank you to all of the trail partners and advocates who have made and are making this important trail happen! Don't forget that you can be among them by volunteering with ForeverGreen Trails.
