CUSHMAN TRAIL

The Cushman Trail is an important regional facility connecting the Gig Harbor Peninsula to Tacoma. ForeverGreen Trails is supporting the extension of this trail to Kitsap County and other destinations.

In 2025, Peninsula Metropolitan Park District (PenMet Parks) completed the southern extension of the Cushman Trail to 24th Street NW just south of their community center.

The trail is planned to extend to Kitsap County. Currently, its northern extent stops at Borgen Boulevard in the City of Gig Harbor. The City's Planning Study for the remainder of the trail cites the need for a value engineering study of the crossing of Borgen Boulevard as the next step in the process. Please contact the Gig Harbor City Council and urge them to fund this study to continue the development of the Cushman Trail.
