Trails: Transportation, Health & Equity

 

ForeverGreen Trails is hosting the 11th annual Pierce County Trails Confernede – attend to learn more about how trails are related to health & equity through transportation. Keynote speaker is Ron Sims. Sims is former King County Executive, former HUD deputy secretary. As County Executive, Sims was nationally recognized for his work on the integration of environmental, social equity and public health policies that produced groundbreaking work on climate change, health care reform, affordable housing, mass transit, environmental protection, land use, and equity and social justice.

 

Also on the program are networking, dinner, 2016 State of the Trails report, an agency panel providing updates on trails in Pierce County, and ForeverGreen Trails annual awards.


Registration will start at 4 pm with the program starting at 4:30. Arrive early and go for a walk on the Prairie Line Trail at 3 pm. Milt Tremblay, Director of Planning and Sustainability at University of Washington Tacoma, will lead the walk and discuss the history of the Prairie Line rail line and trail.

 

 

FAQs

 

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? 

 

Sound Transit Link Light Rail has a stop on Pacific Avenue at University of Washington Tacoma. You can park at the Tacoma Dome Station and ride the Link Light Rail to UWT.

Multiple Sound Transit and Pierce Transit buses also stop at UWT.
Parking near the University of Washington Tacoma can be difficult.  There is paid parking available across Pacific Avenue near the Washington History Museum.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes. You may transfer your registration to another person.

 

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No. We do not need a printed ticket.

 

What is the refund policy? 

No refunds will be given.   

 

The name on the registration/ticket doesn’t match the attendee. Is that okay?
The name on the registration does not need to match the attendee. All tickets may be transferred to another person.
